POETS, PROPHETS and PRIESTS
The Matter of Britain, part 5
After the collapse of the Roman Empire in Britain around 400 AD, several conflicting mythologies vied with each other for the hearts and souls of the populace. Earlier belief systems remained strong on the Celtic fringe and the Romans had left their mark everywhere. But in the following centuries the Saxon and Norse pantheons came into play, and there were the new, saintly exactitudes of the Christian Church. In this week-long storytelling retreat we will explore the myths of the Dark Ages and visit the sites associated with them.

October
October 27th – November 2nd The Odyssey, week-long residential workshop in Amari, Crete with Hugh Lupton & Daniel Morden, culminating in an epic shared retelling of the Odyssey in the Greek landscape, for more information contact Friends of Amari at www.friends-of-amari.org

November
November 24th Three Snake Leaves (with Company of Storytellers) The Earth House, Ancient Technology Centre, Cranborne, Dorset.
