I made of a rather handsome old oil drum I came across.
I happened to have my portable recorder with me at the time, so I had a happy half hour hitting it with various bits of wood, metal, and even an old spade that happened to be lying around.
The sampling only stopped
when the recorder ran out of batteries!
Do NOT expect accurate pitching and equal temperament - it’s not that kind of oil drum.......
